AED & CPR

Supporting the placement, installation and correct use of defibrillators
and training the community in their use and in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

What it is

Understanding AEDs (automated external defibrillators)

Red stylized heartbeat or pulse line with peaks and valleys on a black background.

An AED (automated external defibrillator) is a machine that reads a heart rhythm and, if needed, provides a shock to restart it. They are designed to be used by anyone – no medical training required. JHSG has supplied AEDs to all the island schools and continues to provide them at cost price to clubs, businesses and individuals across our island. Do you know where your nearest defibrillator is? If not, take the time to find out. It could save a life.
