St Catherine Groups Come Up With Potential Life-Saver
SPORTS clubs and other organisations who use the area around St Catherine’s Breakwater have raised money to have a defibrillator installed outside the café there.
Groups who use the facilities in the area decided to raise about £2,000 to buy the potentially life-saving machine and cabinet, which would be accessible to the public.
The organisations which contributed towards the purchase were St Catherine’s Sailing Club, Jersey Canoe Club, Jersey Long-Distance Swimming Club, Jersey Seafaris, Island Rib Voyages, Lions Club of Jersey, Turbot Farm, the Breakwater Café, Querée Optometrists and Jersey Triathlon Club. The Constable, Michel Le Trocquer, also made a donation.
Meanwhile, the charity Jersey Heart Support Group is aiming to install as many defibrillators as possible around the Island outside schools, parish halls and other public buildings.
